This is the beauty of a Bubbling Boulder.  Unlike a pond or other water feature, the maintenance is extremely low.
Fall Maintenance for Winter Climates

If you want to maintain your bubbler yourself, then the following directions will apply for temperatures that allow freezing to occur.

  1. Disconnect electric pump plug from outlet.
  2. Follow cord to bubbler, and remove rocks or flat stone to reach opening for pump.
  3. Lift up hose. Take a screwdriver and disconnect pump.  Note: Pump out water if you have a Bubbling Boulder Basin.
  4. Use a 5 gallon bucket. Fill with water and place pump in bucket.  Be sure to store in a basement, or wherever it will not freeze.  Check bucket to make sure pump is submersed in water through out the winter season.
  5. During hot season: add water when bubbler is low.  We also can hook directly to your outside hookup with a float.

If you have the good fortune to be in a climate that does not freeze, then just add water periodically.  You will be able to tell when the water is getting low, as your Bubbler will not bubble as high.
